DER UTE

A performance concert by electronic music duo OAK & SHAW (NO/DK), a weaving of sound and thoughts around finity.

Inspired by the promises of doom in our time, the performance takes us through a peculiar landscape on the edge of a gloomy dream. There is a protagonist but she is not going anywhere. Or. She is drifting. Lingering. And her furniture seems to be disappearing into the hallway. What is out there? A campsite at the end of the world? And the waterfalls - how are they always falling? How do we use this window of time - us that live on this planet? Maybe one can disappear into a mountain or out into the universe where darkness is endless.

Framed by a live analog video universe the performance fluctuates between moments and thoughts, through songs and soundscapes in a stream of consciousness.

The music unfolds between melodic techno and electro pop and derives from OAK & SHAW's debut album “Dissolving” that was released on Glorious Records in 2023.

REVIEWS / FEEDBACK

“We are lulled into the deep, quiet calm of the forest, (...) her voice is hoarse and crisp and curls like the bark of the birch trees pictured in the backdrop. It is intense and intimate to witness.” - from review in “Den 4. Væg” by Sofie Slott (DK)

“If you ever have the chance, make sure to see this company. DER UTE exceeded all expectations of what I thought a concert performance could make me feel.”

- Andreas Strand Renberg (NO)

“The music was cruel and beautiful. A mysterious dream world”

- Tor Hvamen (NO)

"A production that fuses contemporary theater, electronic soundscapes, live video performance and a visual language that breaks the boundaries of traditional performing arts. (...) a commitment to immersive art, experimental theatre, sound art, and the exploration of the sensory as a performing language.

- RDiversia LGTB, (COL)

“I cried an ugly cry”

- Rose Blixencrone (NO)
